The 2012 “Martin Luther King County Executives Awards for Excellence In Hip Hop” will also feature musical performances in all genre’s, fine arts performances, a private gallery art showing, and a fashion show.

At the upcoming 2012 celebration, King County Council Chair Larry Gossett will be honored for his contributions to social justice and his leadership as an example of the principals espoused by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The special “Industry Pioneer Award”, along with the traditional Awards for Excellence in Hip Hop will be presented to winners by King County Executive Dow Constantine. The event will

Scott Macklin, the Associate Director of the Master of Communication in Digital Media (MCDM) program at the University of Washington will be deliver a keynote speech regarding “Designing Communities Through Communication.” Northwest civil rights pioneer Eddie Rye and former Washington State Legislator Dawn Mason will also be speaking.
