Saturday: A Benefit for Mark Giese featuring Grand Hallway, The Maldives, Outside Alcatraz, Soft Starts

All proceeds will go to our friend Mark Giese, who suffered a stroke last week at the age of 33. He’s currently in the hospital and faces months of rehabilitation with no health insurance.

In addition to music by Grand Hallway, The Maldives, Outside Alcatraz, and Soft Starts, there will be a silent auction featuring artwork from Frida Clements, Andrio Abero (33rpm), Heisuke Kitazawa (PCP), Odessa Chen, Tina McKim, Jeanette Bath, Jen Yule, and also a day of recording at Studio Litho with producer Shawn Simmons (Grand Hallway, The Maldives, Head and the Heart, Lemolo.)

Sunday: The Warehouse Presents: Elk & Boar, I Low, Matt Coughlin with Phil O’Sullivan

The Warehouse is once again presenting a fabulous show at the Theater this Sunday. Elk & Boar, I Low and Matt Coughlin with Phil O’Sullivan are all gracing our stage. The Bourbon is also featuring $5 Warehouse Whiskeys all night. Be there.

This Weekend: Bike Works Benefit, Shim

Friday: Bike Works Benefit: Elk & Boar, Daniel G. Harmann & the Trouble Starts, Drew Victor, Kimo Muraki

Join us Friday as we host an evening of great music to benefit our Columbia City neighbors, Bike Works. Bike Works have been working hard for the past 15 educating and empowering youth and making bicycling affordable and accessible in our city.

We have quite the line up for this worth event full of bands that have played incredible shows at the Theater this past year. Elk & Boar, Daniel G. Harmann & the Trouble Starts, Drew Victor and Kimo Muraki will all perform for this good cause.

Saturday: SHIM, Whalebones, Hobosexual, Pipsisewah

Fans of good ol’ fashion Rock will be pleased by our lineup this Saturday. SHIM is everything you expect from an arena rock band complete with big hair, heavy guitars and fist-pumping anthems.

Whalebones and Hobosexual have already graced our stage in recent months and return to brandish their respective shredding riffs and head banging while Pipsisewah makes their much-anticipated debut to Columbia City.

Close your weekend out with another returning band as the one man show The River Rust plays in the Bourbon once again.

Friday: Indian Valley Line, Elk & Boar (Free Show)

Indian Valley Line, a band scattered across three states, will be united for a rare performance in the Bourbon Bar on Friday. Well, mostly united. Drummer Ben Boyden won’t be there, but the rest of the guys will be playing along with special guests Paul Hirschl (Goldfinch) and Steve Norman (Goldfinch, Big Sur, about 30 other bands). Opening up this free show will be the Tacoma band ElkĀ & Boar.

Saturday: Karaoke Battle in Seattle

This past week, contestants have been competing at Karaoke bars all over town hoping to qualify for the 2010 Karaoke Battle in Seattle presented by Absolute Karaoke. Up to $1000 in cash and prizes will be given away during the finals at the Columbia City Theater this Saturday. Come witness the best singers in the city belt it out for the championship.

We’re so happy to have one of our favorites back in the Bourbon Bar on Sunday. Michel Navedo, one of the finest trumpet players this city has to offer is returning for another free performance. Relax with a fine bourbon or one of our specialty cocktails and appreciate this fine talent.
