Several of Seattle’s finest musicians will be performing on Saturday to raise money for Drew Grow (of Portland’s Drew Grow & the Pastors’ Wives) who was severely injured in car accident last month. Thankfully, Drew is on his way to a full recovery, but the accident caused him to incur many expenses and the band’s touring van was totalled.

Although Drew lives in Portland, the amazing and supportive Seattle musical community has claimed him as our own and the our scene’s creme of the crop will be on stage this weekend to help him out. The Maldives will headlight a night featuring Kevin Murphy (The Moondoggies), Mychal Goodweather (Campfire OK), Jake Hemming (Big Sur), Bryan John Appleby, Ghost’s I’ve Met and many more.

There will also be a silent auction for items donated by NW artists of all kinds starting at 7pm. All proceeds of the night will go to Drew.

Friday: American Standard Time Presents: A Tribute To Harry Smith

Harry Smith

We have a very special show in store for you this Friday night as the Columbia City Theater will be hosting A Tribute to Harry Smith. Harry Smith, a record collector and music historian, put together The Anthology Of American Folk Music back in 1952, a compilation chronicling old and forgotten folk and roots music from the 1920’s and 30’s. In the words of our hosts for the evening, KEXP DJs Greg Vandy and Kurt B. Reighley, the Anthology is “the first and best-ever mixtape.”

You can find out a lot more about Harry Smith and his legacy over at Greg Vandy’s website, American Standard Time, as well as this interview with Greg by Chris Burlingame at Another Rainy Saturday.

A whole host of local musicians will be performing songs from the Anthology including:

Zoe Muth
Shenandoah Davis
Gravel Road
Levi Fuller
Cahalan Morrison & Eli West
Barton Carroll
Josh Rabie of Water Tower Bucket Boys
& more

It’s going to be special night of great music and old stories. Don’t miss out.

Saturday: The Atomic Bombshells, Michel Navedo

This is it, folks. Saturday night will be the final performance of The Atomic Bombshell’s current run at The Columbia City Theater. We’ve really enjoyed having Jasper and the girls up on our stage every Saturday this month but all good things must come to an end. Each night so far has been sold out and tickets for this last one are going fast. Save your appetites as we’ll have table service so you’ll be able to enjoy our new food options during the show. Remember that seating is limited so get there early!

Once again we’re happy to have Michel Navedo perform in the Bourbon Bar with two sets bookending the Bombshells show. There’s no better way to wrap up the night then listening to Michel’s New Orleans-style jazz while sipping on one of our many selections of bourbon. It’s free and the first set starts at 8pm.

Well, we’re halfway through the string of  shows The Atomic Bombshells are doing at the theater this November and they’ve been quite a good time so far. The remaining two shows will be different shows with different performances, so come back and see what’s new if you’ve already been attended one. Last week’s show sold out and we do have a limited amount of seating so make sure to get your tickets now and arrive early to get a good seat.

Another fantastic reason to come early (besides our amazing cocktails and brand new food menu) is that Michel Navedo will be returning to the Bourbon Bar to start the night with a free show at 8pm. Joined by the fantastic Jason Goessl on guitar, Michel’s stunning skills on the trumpet will leave you wanting more.
